What are you waiting for?

What is electrolysis?

Electrolysis is the only FDA approved form of permanent hair removal. Your electrologist inserts a very fine needle into the natural opening of the hair follicle. This needle or fine metal filament is smaller in diameter than your hair. Typically, the insertion itself causes no discomfort. A small electrical current or pulse of heat is then applied which in turn destroys the hairs growth supply. As long as the treated hair is in the correct stage of growth, another hair can not produce in that follicle again.

Is Electrolysis Permanent?

No other hair removal techniques can claim the success offered by electrolysis treatments. Electrolysis permanently removes all types of hair from all skin tones. Electrolysis permanently destroys the blood supply of the hair follicle including any cells that aid in growing another hair. This is not a quick fix solution though, following a strict treatment plan is the only route to success in permanent hair removal.

how long will it take

How long will my electrolysis treatment take?

Electrolysis is not a quick fix method and requires the client to follow a strict treatment plan to achieve permanency. Considering that we treat every hair individually, your appointments can be anywhere from 15 minutes per treatment for small areas to 2 hours for larger areas. After clearing the area of concern, you can expect to be completed with treatments in 2-2.5 years. Factors such as growth cycles, how much hair is presented at the time, previous usage of temporary hair removal methods, genetics, hormones, and some medications are all factors that determine how long it will take to achieve permanency of hair removal.

Does electrolysis hurt?

You will feel a pinch or short building of heat sensation. Although individual pain tolerances differ among everyone, discomfort is short lived. Keep in mind that some areas of the body are more sensitive than others. Your electrologist will offer a sample treatment during your consultation, as well as tips on how to make treatments more comfortable.
